COMPETITION: Leicester Beer Festival

It’s less than a week until the Leicester Beer Festival launches its 2020 edition, with a theme of 20/20 Vision. Hosted once again within the spacious and pleasingly central surrounds of the Leicester’s Haymarket Theatre, drinkers can look forward to over 200 real ales and 40 real ciders and perries to choose from. Not just that, but there will be a KeyKeg bar and the Travelling Juniperberries providing their regular gin and Prosecco option.

An absolute must-attend event on Leicester’s annual calendar, there will be a huge number of fantastic local breweries represented. Old favourites like Belvoir Brewery, Langton Brewery and the West End Brewery will be there, as well as newer names like Round Corner Brewing and Full Circle Brew Co. Similarly, you can sample some of the very best of local cider, with Charnwood Cider, Simply Cider and Thirsty Farmer showcasing their wares.

Line your stomach!

There is always plenty of tasty snacks to wash down – as well as the absolutely mandatory samosas, this year we can look forward to the return of Noni’s Family Kitchen’s amazing scotch eggs which were the surprise hit of last year’s festival. They have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options available.

You can get the full lowdown on opening times between 26th and 29th February as well as admission prices on the Leicester CAMRA website. There are gift packages available which include admission, beer tokens and commemorative glasses which save you a bundle, so be sure to check those out.

And as if that wasn’t enough, I have two tickets so that two lucky people can come and join me on Wednesday 26th February at the Trade Session – for free! That’s right, free admission for one real ale loving pair. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me what you love about real ale! And make sure there is a way for me to contact you if you win. There will also be ways to enter on my social media, so keep an eye out for those posts and extra changes to win! I’ll pick a winner of the two tickets at random from all valid entries on 24th February. Good luck!
